"Animals in Struggle" bronze sculpture by Antonio Ligabue. Stamp with edition on the base. Certificate of Guarantee and Authenticity Antonio Ligabue (Zurich 1899 - Gualtieri 1965), cm. 21.5x37x20.5; ex. 444/1500 Bronze sculpture with limited edition worldwide of 1500 numbered pieces, progressively from 1 to 1500 plus a multiple, not numbered, donated to the "Museo Antonio Ligabue" in Gualtieri. There are no artist's proofs or different numbering from that stated. "Clay sculpture modelled by Ligabue, probably around the years 1936-1942. It is undoubtedly one of the artist's most important sculptures, in terms of expressive intensity, formal balance and content. It depicts a fight between a lynx and a wild cat, where anger, ferocity and aggression are expressed with such realism that we believe the artist identifies with the animal that is usually attacked, thus expressing the anguish that haunted the artist throughout his life".

"Escape to Egypt" oil on canvas from the 18th century, in a contemporary gilded frame. The episode of the Flight into Egypt is an episode from the childhood of Jesus linked to the Massacre of the Innocents, narrated in the Gospel of Matthew (2.13-23), in which Joseph, with Mary and the infant Jesus, flees to Egypt. The iconography of the Flight has been a popular subject in art and shows Mary with the child on a donkey led by Joseph proceeding on foot, or the Holy Family encamped for a short rest. In this work there is a perfect fusion between the landscape and the fleeing Family, which is guided by an angel on its way to salvation. Period: 18th century Measurements: Framed H 78.5 x W 64 x D 7 / Canvas H 64.5 x W 50.5 cm
