  • "Mountain landscape, Aosta Valley" - Oil on tablet by Lorenzo Delleani, dated lower right 3.7.97, on the authentic back of Bistolfi. Authenticated by the Piedmontese figurative painters and sculptors archive. DELLEANI LORENZO. Born in Pollone (Biella) on 17 January 1840, died in Turin on 13 November 1908. He studied at the Albertina Academy, a pupil of Gamba for drawing, then of Carlo Arienti and Andrea Gastaldi, graduating in 1862 when he had already made his debut as Promoter of Fine Arts in 1855 and established itself in 1860 with an episode of the siege of Ancona. According to the romantic interests of his time, he initially dedicated himself to painting of historical re-enactment, to achieve more spontaneous research on the truth with interior studies, environment and views of Genoa, Venice and the surroundings of Turin, as well as Pollone and Paris. At the national exhibition in Turin in 1880 the Ministry of Grace and Justice purchased the vast canvas Caterina Grimani Dogaressa, while critics showed that they preferred In the garden. The following year, in Milan, alongside Sebastiano Veniero who presented the prisoners of Lepanto, he exhibited Quies, who earned him numerous acclaim, such as to induce him to abandon historical subjects to devote himself to the landscape, establishing himself for his genuineness and brightness. In addition to the large canvases destined for numerous national and international exhibitions, in which he participated in Italy and abroad, Delleani linked his name to a vast pictorial production made almost exclusively on small panels, "among the most convincing things in the Italian landscape of that age » (Lavagnino). Among his disciples we mention: Giuseppe Bozzalla, Sofia of Bricherasio, Giuseppe Buscaglione, Luigi Cantò, Giuseppe A. Levis, Angela Meucci, Camilla Bergonzio, Emilia Ferrettini Rossotti, Enrico Reycend. Delleani was in Paris and Bern in 1878, in Holland in 1883, Switzerland in 1892, but for his paintings he aimed above all at the reasons that nature and the environment could suggest to him during his periodic stays in the Biella area, in Venice, in Rome, on the Riviera , in the Monferrato.     "Woman lying with blue vase" by Armando Spadini, oil on canvas signed on the lower right and dated 1902 on the back. The painting, although in excellent condition, needs cleaning. Armando Spadini (Poggio Caiano 1883 - Rome 1925) studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Florence for a short time, visiting museums and exhibitions on his own, and assimilating, with his sensitivity, the joyfullness of colours, which is expressed personally, but not too far from the Venetian and French painters. Precisely this great love for the festive colours, for the transparent clarity, for the solar luminosity is showed in all his works, without the tormenting research that often characterized the work of the Impressionists. He is a painter superior to his time, to his environment; Emilio Cecchi considers him, like Antonio Mancini, the strongest pictorial temperament that arose in Italy after the end of the 18th century. Having won the competition for national retirement for painting in Florence in 1910, he settled in Rome, where he remained until his death, keeping on painting. He participated, but not so often, in various Roman and Florentine exhibitions, and in 1918 he held a solo show at the Casina Valadier in Rome. In 1924 at the Venice Biennale he had a room, where only his works had been displayed. Many of his works are in public and private galleries in Italy, in Paris, in Buenos Aires, in Lima. At the VI Quadriennale in Rome, in 1952, a commemorative exhibition took place with eighteen works. His works were also present at the 1956 edition of the same event.     "The prayer" - Félix Auguste Clément (20 May 1826, Donzère - 2 February 1888, Algiers), oil on canvas from the second half of the 19th century, signed on the lower left. The painter known for his orientalist scenes, dedicates this painting to the love of a mother for her sick child, the attention to detail is very clear, such as the light that gives three-dimensionality hitting the main subjects in great prominence on the dark background. His first studies were at the École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon with Jean-Claude Bonnefond. In 1848 he entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he studied with Michel Martin Drolling and François-Édouard Picot. He was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1856 for his painting of the return of the young Tobias. He remained in Rome for several years, followed by a visit to Egypt in 1862, where he painted scenes of princely activities, made decorative works for palaces and sketched monuments; some of them quite remote. Many works were made at the request of the Khedive. In 1868 he returned to France. Four years later, he was commissioned by the government to copy Andrea Mantegna's paintings in Padua, but was forced to return due to illness. He was a professor at the École Nationale in Lyon from 1874 to 1877, then he retired. He participated in the Second Annual International Exhibition in London (1872), the Expo Vienna 1873 and the Exposition Universelle (1878). It is reported that Henri Rousseau enlisted the help of Clément in obtaining permission to copy paintings in the Louvre; privilege reserved for students of recognized institutions. He died in Algiers, where he had spent the winter trying to recover.

  • "Sky Kiss 2007" Flap sofa, an icon of Edra's production, designed by Francesco Binfaré. The Sky Kiss 2007 edition is dedicated to pop-art: made of white fabric with a print, the sofa becomes a large canvas representing a romantic kiss between a man and a woman. Pure Italian design, incomparable for its stylistic innovation. This sofa stands out for the originality of its shapes and its high level of functional flexibility, as it is possible to adjust the nine movable elements of its modules to sit or lie on them. The various components of the seat, inspired by the flaps of aircraft wings, can assume up to six positions. The Flap has a steel frame, a brushed and chrome-plated metal base, polyurethane padding, and has been entirely assembled by hand. The choice of fabrics is anything but random, each product has been studied and upholstered according to tactile and technological characteristics, conceiving what materials are useful for each model.   • Bartolomeo Castelli known as Bartolomeo Spadino the Younger, pair of still lifes, oil on canvas. The paintings are accompanied by the authentication of Dr. Gianluca Bocchi. Bartolomeo Castelli the Younger (Rome 1696 - 1738), also known as Spadino for having derived the pseudonym of his father Giovanni Paolo, is the youngest member of a family of Roman artists dedicated to the representation of still lifes of fruit. The pictorial imprint found in his works does not seem to seek the Baroque inspiration visible in his father's canvases, more based on chromatic strength and the search for decorativeness, preferring to resume and successfully update the models of the homonymous uncle, called Bartolomeo for this reason Castelli the Elder. In one of these two small canvases there is a trace on the original frame of an inscription in eighteenth-century characters which can be distinguished with the word "Spadino". The identity of the writing, found on paintings with different origins, but characterized by the same style and the same subjects, confirms the originality of the signature that the author loved to affix on the back of his compositions, vaulted on the canvases or on the frames. The pair of canvases certainly belonged to a larger series that was dispersed or perhaps split up in the course of hereditary transmissions. The author had a predilection for small dimensions, where he knew how to best express his qualities as a fine investigator of nature, revisiting Campidogliesque modules learned with the study of his uncle's compositions, probably through the drawings and cartoons left by Bartolomeo the Elder in family.   • Virgilio Audagna (1903-1995). Born in February 1903 in Cannes, France, where his father and his family had temporarily moved for work. Returning to Italy, he completed his artistic studies and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin. During his artistic career, he has created both large monuments and small-format works. Active not only in Italy but also abroad, where he often stayed, he also had the opportunity to perform models for medals, of sacred and profane subjects, to commemorate numerous events. In addition to being a sculptor, he was a draftsman and painter. He died in Turin in 1994. The work represents a female nude, green marble sculpture.

    Screen printing on mirror in polished stainless steel, edition 80/80. MICHELANGELO PISTOLETTO was born in Biella in 1933. He began exhibiting in 1955 and in 1960 he held his first solo show at the Galatea Gallery in Turin. His first pictorial production is characterized by a research on self-portrait, experimenting different techniques recalling Fontana, Jean du Buffet and Pollock. Through this research he accomplishes two works on black emaled canvas, which later lead him to his mirror paintings in 1961. In the two-year period 1961-1962 he arrives at the creation of mirror paintings, which directly include the presence of the viewer, the real dimension of time in the work and also reopen the perspective, overturning the Renaissance one closed by the avant-garde of the twentieth century. With these works Pistoletto quickly achieved international recognition and success, which led him to carry out, already during the 1960s, personal exhibitions in prestigious galleries and museums in Europe and the United States. The mirror paintings will form the basis of his subsequent artistic production and theoretical reflection. Between 1965 and 1966 he produced a set of works entitled Minus Objects, considered fundamental for the birth of Arte Povera, an artistic movement of which Pistoletto is the animator and protagonist. Starting from 1967 he carried out, outside the traditional exhibition spaces, actions that represent the first manifestations of that “creative collaboration” that Pistoletto will develop over the following decades, bringing together artists from different disciplines and increasingly wider sectors of society. Between 1975 and 1976 he created a cycle of twelve consecutive exhibitions, Le Stanze, at the Stein Gallery in Turin, the first of a series of complex works organized over a year, called "continents of time", as White Year (1989 ) and Happy Turtle (1992). In 1978 he held an exhibition during which he presented two fundamental directions of his future research and artistic production: Division and multiplication of the mirror and Art dives in religion. At the beginning of the eighties he created a series of sculptures in rigid polyurethane, translated into marble for the personal exhibition of 1984 at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence. From 1985 to 1989 he created the series of “dark” volumes called Arte dello squallore (Art of Squalor). During the nineties, with Progetto Arte and with the creation in Biella of Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto and the University of Ideas, he puts art in an active relationship with the different areas of the social context in order to inspire and produce a responsible transformation of society. In 2003 he was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale. In 2004 the University of Turin awarded him an honorary degree in Political Science. On this occasion the artist announces what constitutes the most recent phase of his work, called Terzo Paradiso. In 2007 he received the Wolf Foundation Prize in Arts in Jerusalem, "for his constantly creative career as an artist, educator and activator, whose tireless intelligence has given rise to premonitory art forms that contribute to a new understanding of the world". In 2010 he is the author of the essay Il Terzo Paradiso, published in Italian, English, French and German. In 2012 he promoted the Rebirth-day, the first universal day of rebirth, celebrated every year on 21th December with initiatives carried out in different places around the world. In 2013 the Louvre Museum in Paris hosts his solo exhibition Michelangelo Pistoletto, année un - le paradis sur terre. In the same year he received the Praemium Imperiale for painting in Tokyo. In May 2015, the Universidad de las Artes de Havana awarded him an honorary degree. In the same year he created a large-scale work, entitled Rebirth, located in the park of the Palace of Nations in Geneva, headquarters of the United Nations Organization. In 2017 his text Hominitism and Demopraxia was published. Manifesto for a regeneration of society. Between 2018 and 2020 the activity of the Third Paradise is further intensified, in particular through the development of an international network of Embassies and Forums. In these same years he is also particularly active in various countries of Latin America with personal exhibitions and various initiatives related to the Third Paradise.
