“Serene Hours” pastel on cardboard by Gigi Chessa.
Work produced between 1914 and 1915, on the back there is a cartouche of the Galleria D’Arte Fogliato.
It is a very youthful work dating from the only year Gigi Chessa spent as a student at the Accademia Albertina in Turin. In February 1984 it was exhibited at the “Piemonte Artistico e Culturale” (Exhibition: Chessa, Da Milano, Levi, Menzio).
The painting was published in “Rassegna Pittorica, Ottocento – Novecento” of the Galleria Inarte Alassio (April 2003), page 19, TAV IX Gigi CHESSA (1898-1935).
