“Clay sculpture modelled by Ligabue, probably around the years 1936-1942. It is undoubtedly one of the artist’s most important sculptures, in terms of expressive intensity, formal balance and content. It depicts a fight between a lynx and a wild cat, where anger, ferocity and aggression are expressed with such realism that we believe the artist identifies with the animal that is usually attacked, thus expressing the anguish that haunted the artist throughout his life”.
